For his exhibition at LACUNA, Richard Hards has intervened in the architecture of the space to make present the circumstances of its setting as reverberations of tensions. Formerly a coroner’s office, LACUNA has been opened up to establish a far more direct relationship to its location, the street and passersby. Manipulating the visible and the audible, Hards draws together multiple facets of this location hemmed in by the local housing estate and other spaces emptied out and demolished as they make way for new luxury apartments.
