New Social Enterprise scheme between Bow Arts Trust and RSL Poplar HARCA

In this unique initiative the Bow Arts Trust and Poplar HARCAare combining forces to offer local artists and creative practitioners the opportunity of affordable live/work space. This scheme is designed to support artists and promote access to culture within communities.

Our ambition is to create a new permanent creative community in the East End of London as an international gateway for culture. Artists have often historically been a significant factor in the regeneration of deprived or undeveloped areas, this scheme aims to involve artists who want to be a part of that process and future. Priority will be given to: artists with proven educational and community arts experience, graduates in their first 2 years out of college, and all artists and creative industry practitioners who are keen to promote events or disseminate professional practice.

All successful applicants will have to be committed to supporting the arts, arts events and arts education in the local area.

Located across Poplar in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets the live work spaces are ex local authority short life 1, 2 and 3 bed-roomed flats.

It’s really great, I can’t believe I have been given this opportunity, and knowing that part of my rent goes directly to supporting local communities is incredible”. Artist living in Balfron Tower
