Bow Skills: Artist Educators in Schools

A full day of training of need to know information for those currently working in schools (or hoping to) run by experienced artist educators and teachers, including:

Understanding schools

Join the Bow Arts Education team and art leads from primary and secondary schools in a session which gives an insight into the schools structure. Learn more about key stages, the National Curriculum, recent changes in exam structure and content, and where the arts sit within the current educational landscape

Project and workshop planning

Join Bow Arts Artist Educator Sara Heywood in a session looking specifically at effectively planning creative education projects and workshops for a range of processes and outcomes. Including information about linking to curriculum topics, working to outcomes and identifying key aims and learning.

Child protection / Safeguarding

Leah Miller, Assistant Headteacher in charge of Child Protection and Student Well-Being at Bow School, will lead a session on the essentials of safeguarding and child protection for all of those working with children and young people.

Behaviour Management

Learn more about practical, hands on behaviour management strategies for the classroom in a session applicable for both primary and secondary age children and young people. Approaches will include from how to plan for engagement and minimise disruption, how to use positive behaviour management and how to use school behaviour systems effectively.
